“Art is the weapon, after all,” — palecurse @ Healer
While palecurse is a fairly new band, its members have been known and beloved by the Indianapolis scene for years, and when their backgrounds fused, magic was created. Vocalist B Ritchey is an absolute powerhouse that you may recognize from prior project, foreveratlast that was active until 2021 and an Indianapolis legacy. Guitarist Josh Redman you may recognize as the bassist of heavy hitters, exitwounds. Drummer Luke Brishaber and Bassist Monroe Andrews have been apart of numerous projects throughout the years and are now at home with palecurse. Together, the crew of four creates an ethereal, My Chemical Romance inspired, headbanging experience of your emo dreams unlike no other.
On their home stop on tour with Careful Gaze November 15th, Indianapolis experienced the magic with palecurse’s biggest headline show yet. With an audience range from toddlers up, they truly are a band for all that you can connect with through powerful lyrics and story telling mixed with catchy instrumentals that are going to live rent free in your head for the next week. Shen you catch them live, make sure to carve out some space, especially for their hit “Haunted” that hasn’t left my head in months. The crowd was eclectic, two stepping, circle pitting, and singing along with their new found friends at the iconic Healer.
When asked about any proud moments with the band, B had this to say: “I’m really proud of the growth we’ve made in the short time we’ve been a band, but really I’m more excited that we get to play music in a world that needs it more than ever. I am truly thankful that I get to live this life, and can’t wait to see how far palecurse goes. Art is the weapon after all. The journey is gonna be a fun one!”
With no signs of slowing down for the new year’s quick approach, put palecurse on your radar and be cursed.
