The Year of Intimate Rooms & Stage Diving — Stand Atlantic at Hoosier Dome
There’s something magical that just can’t be beat when it comes to seeing a big band in a small, intimate venue. On October 21st, Indianapolis experienced that magic for Stand Atlantic’s show at the Hoosier Dome. The Hoosier Dome’s slogan is “Dome is Home,” and nights like this one solidify just how true that slogan rings when you get to experience your favorite acts no barricade style.
Though announced less than two weeks prior due to Stand Atlantic’s support tour being cancelled, Indianapolis showed up and packed the 250 cap venue with nonstop energy and screamed along to every song throughout the night, including recent hits like; “Criminal,” “Nose Bleed,” and “Sex on The Beach” alongside previous hits like “Jurassic Park,” “Blurry,” and “Hate Me (Sometimes).” Indianapolis didn’t want to say goodbye when they got a special OG throwback treat to Stand Atlantic’s first EP with “Coffee at Midnight.” The crowd entered the warzone with a wall of death that despite the perfect outside fall temps, paired with feet that were in the air as much as on the ground, turned up the heat in the dome.
Though the night was short and sweet, the experience couldn’t be beat. Stand Atlantic’s huge, goofy, Australian personality mixed with insane talent is the perfect concoction for a night I will always remember.
