EP Review: Seney Stretch by Charmer

Emo band Charmer released their newest EP, Seney Stretch, on February 24th, and it marks a departure from the sound they established a few years prior. The EP consists of 4 acoustic songs that the band says “didn’t quite fit with the other stuff” they had been wanting to release. Their previous singles, which were split with Gulfer, were released in 2021 and had a much more classic emo sound to them. However, these new tracks showcase versatility in songwriting and production that hadn’t really been shown before in the band’s previous music.

The tracks heavily utilize acoustic guitars, and each one incorporates the atmosphere, transporting the listener to a place similar to the location on the cover. The songs themselves, while all being lyrically different, flow seamlessly into one another. The EP sounds very consistent and doesn’t have any outliers, which works well with the established vibe. These songs would be the perfect accompaniment to a walk along the beach or a late-night drive. Overall, these four songs are unique and a great addition to Charmer’s discography. You can listen to the new EP wherever you stream your music.
